Mission Statement

The Kemper / Neshoba Regional Correctional Facility is under Sheriff James R. Moore.  The facility's staffing is comprised of two Wardens, Derrick Smith, and Johnny Crockett.  Working under the Wardens are (2) Captains, (4) Lieutenants, (4) Sergeants, (19) Correctional Officers, (2) Nurses, (1) Chaplain, (1) Case Worker, and (1) Office Manager.  All officers are required to attend a 40-hour class on jail standards.  These officers are also trained in defensive tactics, CPR, and first-aid. The facility does not house juveniles as they are housed in Scott County, MS.  The facility has the capacity of  housing (355) state inmates, (50) joint county-state inmates, and (75) county inmates.

All mail must have the offenders booking ID number on it.

To add funds to the inmate's commissary account family and friends can use tigerdeposit.com.

Medical: Inmates may request to see the nurse daily by filling out a request stating the reason for medical attention. The nurse is on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week for emergencies. If a county inmate is on medication, they should bring their medicine with them or have a family member bring it to the Jail in the original bottle. Medicine is dispensed by the nurse as ordered by the doctor.

Work Release: Some inmates are allowed to work in our Joint County Work Center. These inmates go out and work. These inmates are used to collect trash along our state roads. Sheriff Moore started inmates collecting trash on all out-county roads and our inmates also work do repair work on the local churches, all they do is buy the materials and we do the work. This is one of the Sheriff's ways of giving back to the community.
